Tax preparation should be a no-brainer!

And for some folks it is. A single salaried person, with no dependents, no investments or property owned, should have a fairly simple, easy form 1040 to prepare and most likely can do it on his/her own.

If that is your case or even with a slightly more complex situation, you could prepare your taxes yourself  for free, or for a very affordable fee, by visiting the online tax filing site offered by Drake, our tax software platform provider, by clicking here.

For all other situations, we are here to help you navigate the sometimes confusing tax rules or when you end up having more questions than answers.

Here is what we offer:

Face-to-Face

Yes, a face to face conversation is a must. However, we make it easy to accommodate our busy lifestyles, all our interactions are virtual through a secured Zoom session.

You can upload all needed documents to our secured servers and we will schedule video-calls, as many as needed, to go over the facts. Our best efforts go to satisfy your schedule.

In-person appointments are also entertained at you location, it's your choice!

Organizers

We provide an Excel document to help you organize all the information and tax forms needed based on you particular situation. It is a good idea to go over all the items in the Organizer so that any life changes with potential tax implications that occurred during the last year are not forgotten.

You can download the Organizer clicking here.

The Process

If you are working with us for the first time, we will review your previous tax returns to understand your tax situation, the way your financial life works and the choices made.

For all our clients, we diligently prepare all required tax forms while analyzing the potential tax strategies available within the tax code that may bring some relief.

We may come back to you with questions and definitely with scenarios, if available. We will explain the options and their implications, but finally will implement the decisions you make. Remember, this process can be handled remotely or in person, your choice.

The Filing

When the tax package is reviewed by you and ready for filing we can provide remote electronic signature (e-signature), either on your PC or on your mobile device.

As an IRS Registered Tax Preparer, we are required to file your taxes electronically (e-file). You can opt-out of e-filing, in which case you are totally responsible for timely filing and paying your taxes.

Getting your Refund / Making your Tax Payment

Refunds: Tax refunds can be automatically deposited into your checking/savings account at any US financial institution.

Payments: We can accommodate tax payments for individuals, at the time of e-filing using either:

- Electronic funds withdrawal from your checking/savings account at any US financial institution

- Using a credit or a debit card. Payment will be processed once the return has been accepted by the IRS, not before. A processing fee by the card processor will apply.

If you prefer to handle the tax payment at your own convenience once the return has been filed, you can do so at the Drake E-Payment Center website by clicking here.

The Planning

Tax return preparation is like a photo you take at the end of a fiscal year for the IRS to figure out how much taxes you've paid, over-paid and/or still owe.

It is a picture you want to look good in, like those summer pics you go all year long to the gym for!

What I'm trying to say is that throughout the year we make life decisions, big and small, based on our best analysis and their tax implications are usually hardly looked at, only to find out in the "IRS year-end picture" that taxes should have been a factor to consider.

It's not like our life should be dictated by taxes, but there may be some money being left on the table that should not.

Based on your situation, we will prepare a next year tax scenario to keep in mind, but most importantly we will be at hand to help analyse the tax implications of major life changes and/or options available, just to make sure you look good on the IRS Pic!
